Alexandre Variengien
Alexandre is a researcher interested in leveraging AI for human reasoning. He has a background in starting new ambitious initiatives to ensure AI benefits humanity. Previously, he was a mechanistic interpretability researcher (published in NeurIPS, ICML, 1000+ citations), co-founder of CeSIA, a leading French AI safety think tank, and technical specialist at the EU AI Office, designing the strategy for the enforcement of the EU AI Act.
Maris Sala
Maris is an operations specialist at 80,000 Hours with a master's degree in cognitive science. She led the SERI MATS 2.1 AI safety training program ($500k budget, ~30 participants), handled security and operations at Conjecture and Arkose. In her day-to-day work, she handles process design, team coordination, and improving user experience.
